The mail server ate my paper...

Jesus. I finished my semester yesterday but not without some last minute drama.

I spent almost 7 hours on Sunday at school with my partner working the rough spots out of a 25 page business plan (50 if you count the appendix). Grumpy and frustrated, I left under the impression that she was going to go to Kinko's to print it out (in color) and bind it that night. Ned took me out for food and a movie (nothing like a gift certificate to the Olive Garden to brighten one's mood...) and I proceeded to forget all about my school woes.

Well I got out of the shower the next morning (yesterday) to see a missed call on my phone... from my partner! Apparently she was feeling equally grumpy and frustrated the night before and had put off going to Kinko's until 7am that morning. Little did we know that the BU mail server had decided to eat my .zip file containing our entire project. It was removed from the 4 accounts I sent it to AND from my sent folder.

Thank god I'm obsessive. I sent the two most important files to my account separately. I then spent close to 4 hours at work fixing the remaining files so that they were printable. For whatever reason all of the planets were misaligned yesterday. My otherwise reliable computer decided to behave like it was 1993 ... I swear a hamster-powered computer would have opened files faster.

Finally around 1:30pm I was able to send the file to the copy center down the street ( and sweet talk them into printing w/in a few hours since they have a 28 hour notice policy) ... I schlepped all the way down there and paid $38 before realizing there was a few printing errors... had a nervous breakdown... decided to screw it... walked it down to my professors office... and got back to my desk w/ something to eat about about 3:45pm.

Needless to say, I'm ready for a vacation.

God, that same thing has happened to me. If you think your school’s mail server is bad, you could never imagine ours in Maine. Living.Nightmare
