Early Morning Woes

Ned was tapping my shoulder this morning at about 6:45 am. He succeeded in waking me and when I rolled over, he shot me the most pathetic look I've ever seen him muster.

Ned fell asleep with gum in his mouth.

The wad had mostly settled on the left side of his head, where it had infected a large amount of hair that was now sticking straight out. But the gum had also migrated across his face and had finished on the other side with a graceful smudge across his forehead.

Hilarious.

Unfortunately for him it was before 7am on a Saturday and there was NO way I was getting up. Also, the Pixies tickets were FINALLY going on sale [we got 4 tickets each to the Lowell and the Amherst show so let us know if you want to come to either], so he wasn't getting any help until after 10 am.

Finally, after securing our tickets, I led the sad boy into the livingroom ... he was quietly pouting: take care of me, and still looking pathetic. He hated trying to freeze the gum w/ ice, so I ended up pouring canola oil on his head and working it out that way. It only took a few minutes, and after a quick shower, he looks good as new ... except for a mild scent of mint and salad dressing...
