My New Suit
A few weekends ago, I went on a mild shopping spree. I realized that I needed work-appropriate clothing badly and that meant no holes, no frayed seams, no stains... so I ended up at H&M with about 10 new items including a suit!
Well, I finally got a chance to wear it. We had a training session, which I was running, so I figured it was as good a time as any to whip it out.
The funny part was that I had RSVP'd to go to the Women's MBA Association Dinner Reception right after work. So I wore the suit to this fancy-ass house out in Chestnut Hill with 100 other women dressed all fancy-ass, drinking wine and eating sushi. Totally hilarious. I felt like I was on a dare to crash some cocktail party and see how long I could go before getting kicked out.
Well, they never caught on. I stayed for 2 hours - and the Dean even came to say hello. ::sigh::
But I thought it was an appropriate end to the first day I wore a suit out in public.
